David Andrews is a Founder at Hudson Structured Capital Management Ltd. with primary responsibilities as the Managing Partner and Chief Investment Officer for the Transportation Strategy.
Mr. Andrews serves on the Board of Directors for Global Container, Inc, Frete.com, Sunbird Engine Finance Ltd., and is a board observer for JSX. Before co-founding HSCM, he was an Executive Vice President at PIMCO where he was the primary Credit Portfolio Manager covering Transportation for 10 years. Mr. Andrews served as a member of PIMCO’s Shadow Investment Committee, a select group of up-and-coming executives whose role was to independently recommend investment and portfolio strategies to Bill Gross. During the financial crisis, Mr. Andrews consulted with The Federal Reserve to educate them on the commercial paper market and value collateral posted by Bank of America during their Merrill Lynch acquisition. At PIMCO he managed a multi-billion exposure through the bankruptcies of American, Delta, Northwest, US Air and United, and GM and Chrysler. Mr. Andrews helped lead the structuring of the first Enhanced Equipment Trust Certificate (“EETC”), effectively reopening the public debt market to airlines globally following the financial crisis.
Prior to PIMCO, Mr. Andrews was an Institutional Investor ranked fixed income analyst at UBS Securities. Mr. Andrews also worked in commercial banking for 12 years at The Bank of New York.
Mr. Andrews graduated from Kenyon College with a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and holds a Master of Business Administration from Pace University, Lublin School of Business.
