Jason Braunstein

Partner & Co-Chief Investment Officer – Hudson Northern Shipping

Jason Braunstein is responsible for leading the firm’s maritime private credit business, including sourcing, underwriting, structuring, executing, and managing shipping investments.

Since joining Hudson, Mr. Braunstein has played a key role in building the firm’s maritime investment platform and establishing Hudson Northern Shipping as a leading provider of flexible capital solutions to the global shipping sector. His more than 15 years of experience in the maritime industry span asset-backed lending, structured finance, leasing, and equity transactions, with a focus on identifying attractive risk-adjusted opportunities throughout shipping cycles and market environments.

Prior to joining Hudson in 2017, Mr. Braunstein was a Managing Director at ICON Investments, where he focused on maritime investment opportunities and asset-based finance transactions. During his tenure, he participated in the evaluation and execution of numerous debt and leasing investments.

Mr. Braunstein holds a Bachelor of Arts from Connecticut College and a Master of Science with Distinction in Shipping, Trade, and Finance from Bayes Business School (formerly Cass Business School) in London, England.
