Sybren Hoekstra is Partner at Hudson Structured Capital Management with primary responsibilities in the Transportation Strategy.
Most recently, Mr. Hoekstra was a as Managing Director and Senior Investment Manager of Northern Shipping Fund Management LLC until the firm was acquired by Hudson Structured Capital Management Ltd. in 2022. Prior to Northern Shipping Fund Management LLC, Mr. Hoekstra served as Head of Shipping for the New York branch of DVB Bank. Between 2007 and 2008, Mr. Hoekstra was Global Head and Managing Director of the Product Tanker Group, and served as Senior Relationship Manager for Nedship Bank and De Nationale Investerings bank in Rotterdam, Curacao, Netherlands Antilles, and New York from 1990 to 2000. Besides his commercial roles, he acted as Managing Director for Nedship Bank, Curacao, which he helped establish in 1996, as well as Co-Chief Representative for DVB’s New York office.
Mr. Hoekstra served as an officer in the Dutch Army and graduated from the Erasmus University in Rotterdam with a degree in Business Administration and Economics.
